Fresh as a Daisy

Yeah! It rained last night. Big ole storm came tearing in. Lots of thunder and lightening and some well deserved rain.
I kept jumping out of bed to see the storm and I heard the critters running about.
I got mom's clean sheets all full of paw prints and mud.
I had a riot. It was so much fun.
A raccoon or some other kind of monster came by and knocked over the garbage can.
I chased it away.
But after Mom locked the doggie door, it came back again.
Doesn't she know that I am just doing my job!

It is SO HOT!

The wind is out of my tail.
It is so hot that I don't know what to do.
It's been over 100 degrees for 13 days.
I just lie around outside in the shade or better yet inside the house on my dad's chair.
I love air conditioning!

Keep cool this week end.
I am staying inside.

All fished out

Camo is all fished out.
He likes to go fishing with Dad.
He has his fly fishing outfit on.
I think the fish think he is silly and they come up to the surface just to see.
Then Dad catches them.
Mom saw a new t shirt that said 'Catch and Fillet"
That's about right around here.

A Country Sunday

It's Sunday and we are going to spend the day on our porch.
I can monitor the chipmunks and squirrels from here.
It's shady and we need the shade from that blazing sun.
I like being outside with out being far from the action.
But there is very little action here, just critter chasing and the occasional visitor.
So why don't you drop by and say hi.
We will eat some watermelon and rock the day in our rocking chair.

My life, my porch

It's so hot, that we hardly go outside these days.
In the evening, it cools down and we run around a little
and then just sit a spell on the porch.
During the day, I've been catching up on my beauty sleep
and drinking lots of water to plump up my skin and to keep the wrinkles away.
Maybe, I shouldn't share my beauty secrets......I'll sit here a spell and think about that.

King of his Hill

It's Camo's Birthday today.
He is one year old.
I hope there is cake and ice cream.
He has grown into one good looking dog.
Don't tell him I said so, it will just go to his empty head.

Camo's Baby Picture

I'm glad it's his Birthday and he is no longer a puppy.
This Kissy, Kissy boy needs to grow up and stop hogging all my mom's love and attention.
No, I'm not jealous, just observant.

Learning about Nature

Sometimes there is just too much nature going on here, at Red Oak Hollow.
There was a baby red fox hit by a car the other morning.
We went to look at it with Mom.
She was no bigger than Camo.
Mom called her Rose Red and Dad took care of her.
She must have been running across the road just a few hours before.
We don't go near the road and now I know why.

My owner is hotter than your owner

That's what my t-shirt says.
Well, it's 100 degrees today!
So maybe, the shirt is right.
I am going naked today.
So, don't worry if I am too hot.
I am lying around the office where it is nice and air conditioned.

Cookie Monster surrenders

We steal the cookies in our house.
We don't need the help of no "Cookie Monster"
Camo caught the monster in the act and had to apply doxie kung fu.
Dachshunds always go for the ankles to stop any thief in their tracks.

Baby Blue Bird

There is a lot of nature outdoors.
That's why Camo and I spend most of the day on our porch looking at it.
We don't go for a walk, unless Mom takes us.
The other day, we meet this baby blue bird.
He stood around long enough for Mom to take his picture.
As soon as Camo and I came running up to take a look......he flew away.
It may have been his first flight.
I am always happy to give nature a little push in the right direction.
